La melatonina come integratore per alcune alterazioni fisiologiche e non fisiologiche dell'organismo umano

Abstract

La melatonina, l’ormone principale della secrezione della ghiandola pineale, mostra una notevole versatilità funzionale.

Ha infatti uno spettro d’azione molto ampio. È coinvolta nella regolazione del ciclo circadiano e della fisiologia della riproduzione, stimola un’azione anti-invecchiamento grazie alla sua azione spiccatamente antiossidante.

Risulta essere una molecola modulatrice del sistema immunitario e di controllo della crescita cellulare interferendo, tra l’altro, nei processi apoptotici con la partecipazione diretta nelle azioni anti-tumorali Infine volge un’azione antistress, coniugata a quella inibente antidepressiva di alcuni soggetti che vivono sulla terra a particolari latitudini (SAD).

Poiché con l’avanzare dell’età la produzione di melatonina da parte della ghiandola pineale diminuisce, è necessario introdurla come integratore o direttamnete come molecola, oppure attraverso un’alimentazione ricca di triptofano, amminoacido di partenza per la biosintesi della melatonina.

In sintesi la melatonina risulta essere un rimedio naturale capace di determinare un netto miglioramneto della qualità della vita, un ormone che fa vivere meglio e che dirige,detta i tempi e i ritmi di tutti gli strumneti biologici quotidiani, con l’intento di dare armonia alla vita di tutti i giorni.
